The Yusupov Palace on the Moyka river
The Yusupov Palace on the Moyka embankment is famed as the scene of Rasputin's murder by Prince Yusupov, and still deserves a visit in its own right as the finest palace in St Petersburg, embodying the tastes of four generations of nobles and rivalling the residences of the tsars, but on a more intimate scale. An embossed Turkish study and an extravagant Moorish dining hall with gold filigree arabesques reflect the spirit of the epoch. And of course few visitors can resist visiting the site of Rasputin's murder, where a waxworks tableau portrays the events of December 16, 1916.
The tour may last from 2 to 3 hours.
